Transposing the Border is a documentation of a performance for the camera that takes up the question of order and the production of space alongside international borders. (Please scroll to the right for link to video) The project uses walking as an aesthetic practice to make visible the order that defines the border and to intervene in that order. The act of walking here where the wall that marks the international border comes to an end makes it possible to see at once this figure of control and its negation: the wall and the movement through open space. Walking in this space, crossing the border to move from one nation to another, throws into relief the reciprocal relation between permanence and change, the settled spaces striated by walls and enclosures and the open spaces marked by ephemeral traces of comings and goings, perceived and mapped through processes of constant movement. In this way, the act of tracing lines in the landscape reconfigures the space symbolically and implies a transformation of the place and its meanings.

(Des)bordando el borde es una video-documentación de una acción que trata del orden y de la configuración de los espacios limítrofes de las fronteras internacionales. El proyecto acude al andar como práctica estética para hacer visible el orden que define la frontera e intervenir en él. El acto de andar por ahí donde la barda que demarca la línea se acaba hace posible visualizar esta figura de control y de su negación: la barda y el movimiento en el espacio abierto. Caminar en este espacio, atravesando la frontera para cruzar de un país al otro, pone en relieve la relación recíproca entre la permanencia y el cambio, el espacio estriado por muros y linderos y el espacio abierto, marcado por los trazos efímeros de ida y vuelta, percibido y mapeado a partir de procesos continuos de movimiento. De esa manera, el acto de trazar lineas en el paisaje reconfigura simbólicamente el espacio e implica una transformación del lugar y de sus significados.
